How to measure for frontals
1. Measure your head Circumference with a tape measure around your hairline.
Circumference: Starting at the center of your forehead, place the tape flat against
your forehead. Wrap it around your head to meet the beginning point in the center of
your forehead. The tape should rest behind your ears and also sit on the nape of
your neck.
Before taking your head measurements, press your hair as close to your head as possible by either
braiding or wrapping it, then cover with a wig cap.
6. Nape of Neck: The measures the width of your neck. Place tape at the lowest point
on the bone behind your ear (mastoid bone) and measure across the neck to the
opposite mastoid bone.
1. Ear to Ear Across Forehead

In front and at the top of one ear, measure
from hairline at base of sideburn, up across
the hairline along forehead to the same
point at the other ear.

Start measurement at forehead where you
wish hairline to begin, straight back over thin
hairline back to where you want the frontal to
fit on your head.
Typical frontal measurements are:
12 x 2, 12 x 4, and 12 x 6 inches
( yours may differ)
How to measure for half wigs
1. Ear to Ear Across Forehead:

At front of ear, measure from hairline
at base of sideburn, up across the
hair line along the forehead to the
same point in front of the other ear
2. Front Hairline Past Thin Crown:

Start measurement at forehead
where you want your hairline to
begin, go straight back over thin
crown area, down to 2 inches past
thinnest area into your full hair.

Start measurement at the temple point
of your front hairline, then bring the tape
across the back of your head at the
point where measurement 2 ended,
around to the temple point on the other
side of your head. missing, place tape
where temple points should be.
How to measure for full lace wigs
2. From Forehead to Nape of Neck.
your neck. To determine where the nape of your neck is, tilt your head back and look
up. Where your neck bends and may even develop a skin fold, is where your nape is.
You want the bottom of the wig to sit right above this area so that when you do tilt at
the occipital bone, but be sure to take the measurement with your neck bent down
so that you are looking at your shoes. Starting at the front hairline, measure directly
across the middle top of your head to the area that you have determined is your
nape.
3. Ear to Ear Across Front Hairline.
Temple to Temple across Front: This measures your temple to temple length for
tape tab placement. Place tape at your temple, just in front of your ear, bring tape
across forehead where your natural hair is or was. Run the tape down to the
opposite temple in front of the opposite ear.
4. From Ear to Ear Over Top of Head.
Ear to Ear Across Top of Head: This measures your head for the top of the wig
base. top of your head to the top edge of the opposite ear.  
5. Measure from Temple to Temple Around the Back of Head.
Temple to Temple Around the Back of the Head: Place tape against your head at one
temple point in front of the ear, go around the back of your head above the occipital
bone to the opposite temple point.
IMPORTANT: If your hair loss is severe and you have no temple points, place tape
where you want the temple points to be on your wig.)
